Why is this type of assessment or inventory important to leadership roles?

Emotional Intelligence, sometimes called EQ or EI, is the ability to understand and manage your own emotions, and those of the people around you. EI for leadership typically includes five attributes: self-awareness, self-management, empathy, relationship management, and effective communication. Some of the traits of EI can be learned. This module will help you learn your EQ and how to use it as a leader.

In order to show mastery of the information related to emotional intelligence assessments in this module, you should submit a written response to the following prompts. You may use a “question and answer” format or number your responses under each heading, BUT one word or “phrase” responses are not adequate. Use complete sentence/paragraph constructions and graduate level writing style. You should incorporate citations from scholarly sources to support your perspectives. APA guidelines for margins, font, spacing, etc. should be followed. Include a title page. An abstract is not required. You will find some resource links below the instructions to help complete the assignment. Please use them!
