What barriers do you feel may prevent evidence based practice being implemented in the workplace?

Question title
Present a written case study which gives an example of clinical practice which you have studied during your course. Identify and discuss any differences found between the practice as taught to you as a student and the practice observed during clinical placement. Present your findings with reference to the evidence base that underpins that area of clinical practice.
Within your work consider the following questions:
• What are the differences you have observed?
• What reasons do you think lie behind these differences?
• What barriers do you feel may prevent evidence based practice being implemented in the workplace?
• How might this affect your patients?
• Who leads knowledge transfer into clinical practice in the workplace environment?
In addressing the question remain focused on the learning outcomes. You case study should be underpinned by your knowledge of disease management – that is the pathophysiology and the clinical care undertaken. Your critical analysis should clearly identify underpinning evidence related to the case study and how this evidence has been applied in practice, with a focus on the relationship between theory and practice.

Learning outcomes for the written assignment.
The module handbook sets out the learning outcomes for PPP3, we need to evidence that every student has met these outcomes to enable them to pass the module. The written assignment aims to measure the following specific learning outcomes:
• Explain and analyse concepts of disease management in the context of contemporary paramedic practice.
• Critique the evidence base that informs clinical decision making in contemporary paramedic practice
