1) Identify one specific type of special interest tourism to report on for the continent of Africa. You may choose to present information about that category as a whole, or you may choose a more specific sub-catagory.
For example: If this weeks continent is Africa and you have been assigned the topic of religious tourism. You can then choose a specific type of religious tourism to share information with the class about (Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Buddist, ‘Voo-Doo’, Shamanic, etc)
2) Do about 45 minutes of internet research on your topic.
3) Create a post sharing information about that specific sub-catagory of special interest tourism. Your post should include a general written description of the kind of special interest tourism you will be discussing in paragraph form. This should be 500-750 words.
Information you may want to share: General description of the topic, Key locations where people to engage in the type of tourism, history of the type of tourism, Interesting facts, Targeted demographic (who?), Guided Tours available?, Cost, Accessibility. You are not creating a comprehensive guide to the topic, just an introduction of things you found most interesting about the topic. Have fun with it. You do not need to try and cover every aspect of your category. Just information you found interesting and think worth sharing with the class.
