Part 1: Write a paragraph (you get to choose how short or long it is) to introduce yourself to your instructor. Include
1.your nursing goals and dreams
2.any experience with online learning
3. any worries or concerns about online learning
Dear Professor A,
I would like to introduce a little bit about myself. My name is ABC; I go by T. I am from Vietnam; I moved to the United States 3 years ago, where I faced language barrier challenges. English is not widespread use in my country. I can understand the lessons but slower than other classmates; it takes me longer to translate words and understand the knowledge in the books, and I am not fluent in communication in English as well. I am worried, I seem to be behind everyone in the class. My studies have helped me improve my English skills. I am trying to overcome my language barrier. God led me to know more about Nursing career during the time I volunteer in the hospitals. I love Nursing jobs day by day; I love to see patients’ smiles and satisfaction, even small things that I did. My long-lasting desire is to become a nurse. I am not sure exactly what specialty I would like to go into. I am very interested in pediatrics, but hopefully, clinical hours will help me see if that is also a good fit for me. I genuinely care about people. I want to be able to help people when they are in need the most. I plan on getting my Associate Degree in Nursing at HCC and then transfer to USF.
I have taken many online classes prior to this one, and I have enjoyed all of them because it is very convenient. I manage my time throughout the week to ensure I am able to get everything done. If you know what to expect and know when assignments are due, it is pretty easy to manage your time. I have some concerns about online learning is the clinical hours. To me, nursing students need hands-on clinical skills to be able to take good care of patients.
Part 2: Review the attached PowerPoint “Intro to Mental Health and Mental Illness” and write a second paragraph (again, you choose the length) to comment on something that caught your attention in the PowerPoint.
