Individual Case Analysis (Written) (Grading Rubric-20%)
A portion of the course is devoted to the use of cases as a teaching and learning device. Cases that provide descriptive, real life scenarios facing HCOs are assigned from text, articles, or journals, and will be discuss in class during the semester. Each student is required to analyze least one case and present its strategic implications. The written strategic analysis will include the following:
• A written strategic analysis of the assigned case utilizing the methodology recommended by your professor (5%) • Identify key strategic issue(s) impacting the HCO. (5%) • Identify the logical course of action to address the issues. There are usually many ways to solve a problem, so use creativity in your analysis. (5%) • Although no length is prescribed, a solid analysis should require a document (double-spaced) in the five (5) to seven (7) page range, exclusive of any outside research that the student may bring into the analysis. (5%)
