This is a paper based on an ethical dilemma; telling the truth to the patient verses being deceptive. The family came to me and does not want their older father to know his diagnosis yet it is the responsibility of the nurse to tell the patient. The patient’s right to know. The patient is a 68 year old Cuban or Chinese man who is diagnosed with cancer and the family does not want him to know. This paper needs to be written form a different cultural point of view.
