RESPONSE PAPER- It should focus on specific details or passages. Tell me: what struck you about this reading? What connections does it make for you? What do you particularly like or dislike about it? Keep in mind, this isn’t an analytic assignment. You don’t need to summarize the work or analyze it. This is your chance to air your opinion. However, ensure you aren’t simply summarizing the work. Assume your reader has already read it (trust me, she has).
You may substitute a work of visual art for one of your response papers. That artistic work should be accompanied by a short statement (about 100 words) explaining what text you are responding to, and how your artistic work connects to the ideas in that text.
