Think about social stress as it relates to racial and ethnic minorities and female students at your college or university. Are racial/ethnic minority and/or female students more likely (or less likely) to face any particular stressful discrete life events than those faced by all students? Are racial/ethnic minority and/or female students more likely (or less likely) to face any of the five sources of chronic strain (role overload, interpersonal conflicts within role sets, inter-role conflict, role captivity, and role restructuring) or ambient stressors than those faced by all students?
