Consider the following verses:
“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth’.” (Genesis 1:26, English Standard Version)
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27, ESV)
We have spent the first half of this semester discussing “image” or anatomy. Do some biblical and even scientific research and discuss what it means to be made in the image of God. Does God have the same anatomical characteristics as us? Is image referring to something other than anatomy? Consider “God” as the trinity of the Spirit, Christ, and Father, does this change your answer?
