What is the issue(s) that will be the focus of the meeting?
Background of the issue (maximum 2-page summary of key information, including a minimum of 3 to 4 references. A combination of scholarly (peer-reviewed nursing journal articles, etc.) and non-scholarly resources (newspaper articles, internet news stories) can be used.
Brief background on the Organization (Approximately ½- ¾ page)
For example: is it a meeting held by a professional association or union (e.g., RNAO, ONA), CCAC, LHIN, health advocacy group, regulatory body (CNO), etc.?
What is the mandate of the organization?
If there is a defined membership for the organization, what is it?
Are you a member? Does this contribute to any bias on your part?
Plan for meeting participation/observation (Approximately 1 page)
Identify a list of questions you have developed in preparation for attending this meeting.
Identify any relevant strategies for your observation and participation.
