Paper details:
Make an argument answering the question using textual support from multiple pieces of text (stories and poem attached) to develop your claims, counterclaim and rebuttal.
Paper must include:
A clear introductory paragraph
Attention getting HOOK
A brief overview of the topic in connection to the short stories
A clear and developed THESIS (Complex sentence!)
Strong Claims and connections
3 Claims relevant to thesis and topic that are easily differentiated from one another
3 Claims are accompanied with ICEE’d evidence
Evidence from a minimum of 2 of the short stories/poem
All quotes are cited correctly and smoothly embedded into the writing
Explanation and Elaboration are easily connected back to claim and thesis
Counterclaim and Rebuttal
A counterclaim arguing against a minimum of ONE claim MUST be present
Counterclaim must be fully explored and accompanied by textual support
Rebuttal must be thoroughly developed with ICEE’d textual support and responded to WHY the counterclaim is unreliable, unsupported,and/ or not interpreted correctly
Rebuttal has ICEE’d evidence to support
An Effective Conclusion
Review your main points
Reaffirm your thesis (Do NOT use the same exact words from your intro. Reword it!)
Final line is “mic-drop” quality
Final paper must be submitted in MLA format with 12pt, Times New Roman Font, Double Spaced, appropriate heading on the first page and running header on all other pages.
