In this assignment, students are to address the following question.
1. What Constitutes a Stop? Explain and support what this question means. It is the heart of what begins criminal procedures.
AND
2. Pick two cases that relate to the “stop” in the stop and frisk context and give a detailed summary of the case and explain how that case is important to the definition of stop. The cases to choose from are: United States v. Mendenhall, Florida v. Royer, Rhonda v. Rodriquez, Michigan v. Chestnut, California v. Hodari, and Florida v. Bostick. Writing in a respectful manner always includes the date the landmark decision was accepted. Terry v. Ohio (1968)
Students will have to do some research on the internet, as well as look for information in our textbook to address these questions. Incorporate information, language that you have learned from reading these chapters, articles, and viewing the Youtubes. We are getting close to the end of our semester, therefore, there will be no late submissions accepted. At this time in our class, all students are to prepare a well supported paper, and grammar and paragraph error free.
