Interview two people (not the same people as in previous papers) as part of the research for this paper. In your discussion you should talk about what approach do they use to manage their time and priorities effectively, ask them for a response to “If I knew then what I know now….” and how to be successful in the engineering program. Your interviewees should include practicing engineers, junior/senior level engineering students, engineering lab techs, freshman mentors, engineering faculty, or engineering professional advisors.
Go online complete the “Keirsey Temperment Sorter II” survey. Examine your Temperament Type feedback report. What temperament type are you? Find the description of that temperament type on the Kiersey website. How accurately does it describe you? Print out the description and ask someone who knows you well how on-target the description fits you. Outline your reflections, including how you can leverage this personal knowledge to move you toward becoming a master student.
In DYOP-02 you discussed your time and priority management method. Reflect on the changes you have made since the last draft and how they are working for you? Be specific about how you plan your work and work your plan, including what tools you use, how you prioritize your work, how you divide up your big projects into manageable pieces, and how you ensure things get done on time. How did you arrive at your current method (i.e., other methods have you tried, what seems to work best for you)? How can you improve in this critically important area?
Finally, reflect on your spiritual development. Watch three or more of the stories featured on the ‘We The Champions’ web page and discuss how you are inspired by the testimonies of fellow students, faculty, and staff.
