Write a review (2-4 pages, double-spaced, 12-pt font) of a film or set of two or more readings from our syllabus. Short videos and video lectures on the syllabus do not apply. If you choose to do a literature review, you must review articles/chapters by two separate authors. (You may of course use more than one writing by the same author as long as you are engaging two or more authors in the review.)
Film Review
Review one of the three films on the syllabus. Your review should draw upon concepts from the course in a discussion of the film’s relevance to issues in global political economy. Discuss the themes in the film and evaluate its perspective (if it has one) on these issues.
Article/Chapter Review
Review two or more articles/chapters from the syllabus and critically synthesize their insights. You should be engaging two separate authors, but you are welcome to review more than one article/chapter by the same author as long as you do this. It is suggested that you emphasize key areas of agreement/disagreement between authors. For example, it might be interesting to compare/contrast the explanations for China’s growth given in Allen and Arrighi.
