Topic: the Effect of Watching Chinese Films on the Development of Chinese Language Skills

As the world has been experiencing language globalisation , Chinese has been playing a prominent role. Every year thousands of international students go to China to learn more about the Chinese language and culture. Although the process of learning a new language is sometimes very difficult, there are always ways to make it more interesting. The purpose of this study is to find out what genres of Chinese movies students enjoy watching and whether they think that watching movies can have a positive impact on their Chinese language skills. The sample of this study was Chinese major students of Macau Polytechnic Institute and Beijing Language and Culture University, and a questionnaire survfktey was used as the research tool.
