In addition, she has hypertension that is controlled by medication and a history of recurrent urinary tract infections. She has been feeling more tired lately and experienced shortness of breath on minimal exertion. Her daughter has commented that she is looking pale all the time. After the investigations Patricia has been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease she has met with the consultant and the renal nurse to discuss her options for management of her condition. They have explained that she will need to have dialysis to support her kidney function as it is inadequate. They will also give her advice on changes that she will need to make to her diet and fluid intake plus changes to her lifestyle.
