Instructions For the week you are facilitating the discussion, you will create the initial prompt on the discussion board based on a chapter from the book Spillover. Discussions are a way to engage in meaningful dialogue about important aspects of the book and explore various perspectives and ideas regarding those aspects. Your role as a discussion facilitator is to identify the important aspects of your assigned chapter and facilitate a discussion on these points. The following is a list of suggestions for formulating your discussion prompt: Assume that everyone has read the chapter and doesn’t need a summary of what they read. Identify the two to three most important aspects of the chapter and highlight these points. You may want to bring in additional knowledge Providing outside information related to the book may be useful for context and to start the discussion. If you are considering providing a link to an article for your classmates to read before replying, make sure the length of the article is not too long—the reading should be manageable on top of the other requirements for the week.
