What is an Annotated Bibliography?
An annotated bibliography is a document containing complete reference citations of scholarly publications with a summary and evaluation of each. All publications relate to one particular topic.Purpose of Assignment
The purpose of this assignment is to increase your skill at locating, reading, summarizing, and evaluating relevant scholarly nursing publications related to your topic. The topic you choose will be related to an ethical issue.
Assignment Guidelines:Conduct a literature search on an ethical issue of your choice.From this literature search, choose four publications.
Write an annotated bibliography on each of these four publications. Include the following:
An electronic reference to the publication including the URL.
A summary identifying main points, conclusions and connections to nursing practice.
A critique including:
Is this a research article, a literature review, or an opinion?
Is the author’s position clearly presented? If yes, how? If no, why not?
Is the author’s position substantiated? If yes, how? If no, why not?
The publications may include research studies, literature reviews, and/or opinion articles. At least two of the publications need to be research studies from peer-reviewed journals.
