Discussion Questions
1. Make a mental list of the various “diversity groups” to which you belong. Then think about the various stereotypes that may attach to your groups. Share the potential conflicts and resolutions as they apply to such stereotypes.
2. Select a story in the newspaper that involves interpersonal conflict. Summarize the dispute then:
-identify the conflicting goals, needs and interests of the disputants
-identify goals, needs and interests that are shared by the disputants
-discuss whether you believe the disputants are aware of their shared goals and needs.
