(Informally) analyze qualitative data &investigate empirically using quantitative methods.
1. The file attached compiles memories and experiences with standardized tests posted by students in this class in response to the class. For this question you will (informally) analyze this qualitative data.
a. First, read all the data (memories) collected from participants (Class Responses) Standardize Testing.
b. In 1 page, summarize the main “findings” for a reader not familiar with your data. Use any approach or tool you find useful for analyzing/summarizing the data—e.g. simply describe major themes, zoom on (a)typical responses, present excerpts, create images, graphs or any other kind of visual representation, or a combination of these. Look at online sources if you need ideas..
c. Discuss, why did you decide to summarize the data in this way?
d. Were there any themes or evidence that were unexpected or surprising, or made you think about tests/testing issues in ways you had not considered before?
e. Write a research question related to any of the themes in b-d above, which we might investigate empirically using quantitative methods.Why/how are quantitative methods useful to answer that question?
