Light Project Report
describe personal and historical observations of the phenomenon studied, state a problem or ask a question about those observations, form a hypothesis to be tested, briefly describe the demonstration used to collect the data, present the data (using tables and graphs), analyze and interpret the results, and draw a conclusion. At the end of each part, summarize your conclusions, discuss how the demonstrations could be improved, and provide recommendations for future studies. Use any resources that are appropriate, including those already supplied.
Part 1. Colors of White Light– In this section you will describe how white light is a mixture of individual colors (including the three primary colors of light), how wavelength relates to the color of light, spectral power distribution (SPD) and how it was measured, and the meaning of color temperature (including its application in the lighting industry and photography). Using the data collected, including the SPD graphs, describe any trends shown by the data, and especially how color temperature and SPD are related. Look at where the peak wavelengths are on the SPDs and compare them to the color temperature for that light source. Briefly summarize the major findings and conclusions from Part 1, and provide recommendations for future studies.
