Is the evidence you provide relevant to the claim you are making?
Is your evidence accompanied by discussion, which shows the reader how it backs up the claim and why it is significant?

With the exception of your thesis statement, is your introduction non-evaluating?
Is the topic statement located at the end of your introduction?
Does each body paragraph cover one idea?
Does each body paragraph open with a topic sentence that is clear and concise?
Does each body paragraph present evidence and discussion in a logical order?
Does each body paragraph end with a sentence that summarizes the main claim/point of the paragraph?
Do you include transitional phrases or sentences to move smoothly between different
paragraphs?
