Now that you have completed the readings, lectures and activities for this week gather some data (interview others new teachers, mentors, the program coordinator, review public data in your district about new teachers and mentors) about your teacher induction program.
Identify one or more areas of special education induction program where you and/or other stakeholders in your school or district community could benefit from additional (Teacher Induction supports, structures, principles, tools/practices). Which areas are your or your teacher induction strengths? Which areas are your or your teacher induction weaknesses?. Explain how you believe that professional development could best be provided and supported in an ongoing manner to improve the areas identified in the teacher induction program. Explain how you would attempt to elicit buy-in from the community. Outline how you would go about advocating and improving the teacher induction program in your learning community.
