Title: Your title is your Research Question
Section 1: State your position or argument CLEARLY with a general back-up reason. You should also state the reasons you chose this topic, or person– why you believe it is of interest and importance.
Then cite the two articles you are using to support your argument. Author, Title, Publication, Date
Sections 2, 3: Each research article you choose should have its own section of three paragraphs each.
Paragraph 1: you are writing a SUMMARY: cite the research article, the author, and source. Then tell us the position taken in the article.
Give at least two back-up points from the Article.
Paragraph 2: Describe your author’s method and style: Is this straight reportage? Is it an opinion piece? Are there charts, graphs, interviews, stories? Is the language Formal, informal, maybe both. Are your articles Persuasive, Narrative, or Expository? or do they combine those? Are there metaphors, similes, dialogue, descriptive language, cartoons, charts, stats, diagrams?
Paragraph 3: Use a quote for each article and cite it properly. Tell us the authors point in the quote, and why you chose it.
Section 5: YOUR MOST IMPORTANT SECTION
Paragraph 1: Restate your thesis statement and back it up with short summaries of your two articles.
Conclusion: Restate your argument and finish with a take-away statement your reader can use for the future.
