The mistake an organization makes is giving up on a planned change too soon.– In the beginning of an announced change, the majority will not want to accept the change.
The neutral zone leaves people feeling frustrated and unsure of why change was established. This is where leadership has to stay the course and encourage the team to continue on with the change.
With leadership patience and team encouragement, the majority of the organization will be operating in the new “state of being.”
As you can see even over time, some members will resist the new change and others will still feel confused/frustrated. Assignment – Present a situation where an organization abandoned a change too soon or where patience prevailed and a new change began the new standard
