What to do? Choose ONE (1) prompt from the options below and write an argumentative essay that answers the question by engaging the arguments from at least TWO (2) assigned texts (P4 list below) PLUS ONE (1) source from the MCCC Library.
Option A. Write an essay that critiques the impact of the modes of rebellion exercised by Colin Kaepernick, Shepard Fairey and/or Timothy McVeigh (or figures like them) on American society. Question: Which mode of rebellion is a more powerful, lasting means of social change and why: a non-violent peaceful protest during an NFL game; a vividly arresting mural painted on the side of a building, or an ammonium nitrate bomb detonated in front of a federal building?
Option B. Explore what it means to be a true “renegade” or revolutionary.
Question: It could be said that breaking away from established modes of thought is a lot harder than what people commonly realize. But why?
