Carmella, a 72-year-old widow with no children, lives alone. She is on a fixed income, but she owns her home, which is located in a rapidly growing neighborhood. Carmella has been relatively healthy for most of her life, but now her vision is failing.
She was diagnosed with osteoporosis last year, and she does not have the strength and stamina she once did. With her husband gone and most of her friends having moved away, she has few opportunities for socialization.
Her biggest fear is that someday she might fall and break her hip and no one will find her. Carmella does not really want to leave her home, but she knows that it is time for a change.
