Curriculum and Lesson Planning
Identify and compare at least two family childcare curricula. Conduct independent research for each curriculum and answer the following questions:
What is the name of the curriculum?
How much does the curriculum cost?
What age group is the curriculum specified to be used with?
Is the curriculum research-based, evidence-based, or individually developed?
What areas of development does the curriculum cover?
Are applicable forms included (parent conferences, lesson plans, etc.)?
How does the curriculum encourage individualization for children?
What training and/or professional development is included in the curriculum?
Are there materials available to evaluate use with fidelity?
How are parents included?
Are there specific developmental screening or assessment tools included? If not, are any recommended?
Add any other areas of focus that you feel should be noted within your comparison.
