Directions for Current Issues Summaries: college student’s mental health before and after  Covid 19

Introduction:

Public Health Issues are prevalent throughout the United States and worldwide. These issues can be associated with epidemics and the spread of disease, environmental disasters, community health care delivery, personal health behaviors, etc. The purpose of the assignment is to understand a public health issues and suggest a solution to remedy the problem.

Selection of Topic:
The student could select any current public health event or ongoing public health issue from a professional & reputable publication. Examples are:

• Daily publications
• Weekly publications
• Professional and reputable health related websites
• Public Health professional Journals and Publications
• Other reputable sources, sites, and professional journals
• CDC.gov
• APHA.org

Fact sheets are not acceptable sources for the current summary paper The chosen topics/publications must be current (2021-22). Students must site the sources for all factual data, direct quotations, and reference the selected article in addition to other references. (2-3).

CURRENT ISSUE SUMMARIES/:
The summary should cover the following content areas: (10 points per sections 1-5)

1. Introduction:
Provide an objective overview of the public health issue, what issue is the article highlighting; discuss why this is a public health issue. (10 points)

2. Discuss the causes of the current problem and describe the severity of the problem (Who is affected, what are the current statistics) (10 points)

3. Identify public health agencies involved (or should be involved) with this issue. (What steps are being taken to address the current problem?) (10 points)

4. Identification of the interventions discussed in the article and how they relate to the types of interventions discussed in our 345 course readings. (10 points)

5. Conclusion and collective suggestions for addressing the selected issue based upon the reviewed literature. Your recommendation should directly reflect and be specifically supported by reputable sources or course readings. make specific references to these sources. ( 10 points)
