MENTOR ACTION PLAN (MAP)
Engaging with multiple mentors across your career is expected. Mentoring relationships may be formal and assigned; some are informal and develop naturally; however, all mentoring relationships require attention and nurturing to be beneficial. The mentors you have in your career’s early stages may not be the same in later career stages. Mentors do not always need to be senior in rank to you. Keep you and your priorities in mind as you cultivate your mentoring relationships.
Purpose: To assist you in determining goals for a mentor-mentee relationship.
Instructions: Complete the fields for your career mentor action plan:
(1) List two priorities in your life for which you want mentoring (ex: physical, spiritual, social, relationships, work) and explain the specifics of each in the text box below,
(2) Find two mentors for each priority. List their names below,
(3) Set up a time to visit with each mentor, and
(4) Take action on the knowledge acquired from each meeting.
