Discuss Why is your news article topic a matter of public concern? How does your article add to the information that is already known on this matter? If you applied a Constructive Journalism frame around your story, in what ways does your article answer the question ‘what now?’.

This 250-word critical reflection on your Assignment 3 submission is an opportunity for you to discuss the significance and strengths of your research and reporting on a matter of public concern. You should do so in the context of answering the questions listed below.

You will reference unit theory and readings to answer the questions. You should expand on these ideas by using examples from your own stories.

You should also respond to the reflections of at least two other students, in a way that is theoretically engaged and constructive.

Do: Keep to the point.

Don’t: Go off on a tangent.

Your critical reflection need not be written as an essay, but should be formal in writing style (with in-text citations and references in Harvard style).

You should answer the following three question sets:

Why is your news article topic a matter of public concern? How does your article add to the information that is already known on this matter? If you applied a Constructive Journalism frame around your story, in what ways does your article answer the question ‘what now?’.
Why did you use these sources in your article, and what was the rationale for presenting them in the order that you did? How did you address the issue of balance and fairness?
What verification strategies did you use to ensure you had your facts straight?
Note: Your word count does not include your reference list.
