Before you begin the written assignment 7 activity plans should be completed as these will be referenced throughout the work as App1. These are not optional as they form part of the title. However, the marking will be on the critical rationale which will focus on how these plans meet the needs of a specific child. The child does not need to have any additional needs such as SEN or EAL all children have individual needs because of age, gender, place in family etc.
Introduce the work using the title and LO, explain chosen child and the need for provision to cover all areas of the EYFS and address CoEL . Make sure you signpost to the activity plans as App1 from the start. (300w)
Content needs to cover the LO and the title and could include the following ideas:
Identify a wide range of needs this could include age, gender, developmentally appropriate provision, SEN, EAL, families in need, link to research. (LO1)
What does the EYFS say about meeting individual needs? Why should we? What is your role? How -Key person and work with parents and wider professionals. Reference these ideas do not just describe them.
In addition, How is provision planned and why – eg why continuous provision inside and out, accessibility, baby rooms, needs of two year olds, CFS, how does it meet the needs of this group of children ?. (LO3) Reference these aspects and think about historical legacies, indoors/ outdoors the EYFS/Ofsted requirements, SEN Code of Practice. Ensure all areas of EYFS are covered, prime/specific/CoEL are met. Use your activity plans to connect them with reading, research and references. Look at what has been covered in the module and your vast learning. Show this off!
