Explain your approach to the topic or situation (APA, 2010, p. 28). Review the situation and/or context within which the topic exists. Rather than merely reviewing the articles, compare, contrast, and analyze the various aspects of your topic, points of view, or concepts to try and advance some kind of understanding of your topic.
Problem
Present the problem and the criteria to be used to evaluate a solution.
Methods
Describe the methods used in the comparisons.
Features
Present the application features that relate to the criteria for a solution.
Comparison
Discuss the comparative or relative differences of the features for the candidate applications. A comparison table would be helpful here.
Rank
Present the applications in a rank order of acceptance. Explain the relative differences between the ranked applications.
Summary
Summarize the collected information and the analysis performed. Report the information in sufficient detail to justify your conclusions. Mention all relevant findings, including those that run counter to expectation. Use APA table and figure formats for presenting tables and figures. Discussing the implications of the findings should be reserved for the presentation in the Conclusion section (APA, 2010, p. 32).
Conclusion
Evaluate and interpret the implications of the analysis, especially with respect to your original objective for the paper.
Your interpretation of the findings should consider: (a) sources of potential bias, (b) the imprecision of measures, and (c) other limitations or weaknesses of the study or source from which you are drawing information. Acknowledge the limitation of your work and address alternative explanations of the findings. Discuss the generalizability of the findings.
End the Conclusion section with a reasoned and justifiable commentary on the importance of your findings. You might briefly return to a discussion of why the topic is important (as stated in the introduction). What is the practical significance of the outcomes and what is the basis of these interpretations? And finally, what problems remain unresolved or arise anew because of these findings?
