Find an existing prevention program and write a 3-page paper on your findings. The paper must be typewritten, double spaced, 12-font, and include a title and reference page.
Please include the following:
The name and location of the program (include physical address if there is one, phone number(s), and any website or internet access available.
How you found out about the program, for example, did you already know about it, did you find out about it from the textbook: “Stopping the Runaway Train: Alcohol and Drug Prevention” from an associate, guest speaker, etc.
What are the specific elements of the program? What do they do? Are they educational or environmental (or something else?)
How is the program funded? (How is it paid for?)
How long has the program been in operation?
How many people are on staff? What are their functions? Do they offer fieldwork/internship opportunities for students? If not, would they consider doing that?
What are the program’s claims of success, or does it make any such claims?
How does the program assess its success?
What is the basis for-or justification of – the program’s design (do they base their efforts on previous scientific studies of outcomes. etc?)
