In this assignment, you will review a case related to Wells Fargo, a bank founded in the United States in 1852.
Download and read the Wells Fargo case prepared by SAGE Business Cases which includes historical timeline of events related to the ultimate public release of information respecting fraudulent activities by employees of the bank. Take advantage of the many additional resources included in the case in the “Further Readings” Section as there are insightful articles and additional research conducted related to this issue.
Assignment requirements:
1. Identify and explain the structural variables that may have had an impact on the behaviours of Wells Fargo employees. Your explanation should include the relationship to motivation theories.
2. Should management have predicted and be held accountable for the employees’ behaviour or is the accountability solely with the employees? Integrate your response from question 1.
