Discuss The role of nurses in providing structured patient education for the self-management of type 2 diabetes

The question is:
The role of nurses in providing structured patient education for the self-management of type 2 diabetes

(This question is not fully formulated (? Whether it is a broad area); therefore, the question can be slightly changed if required. But this is the concept I would like to discuss something along the lines of structured patient education in managing of type 2 diabetes). With the structured patient education what I mean is, programmes such as DESMOND, X-PERT and so on. Some links are below regarding what structured education is.

The Critical Review of Evidence

The main purpose of the critical evidence review is to develop an academic argument in order to address an area of professional or theoretical interest, or to identify an aspect of practice where research needs to be undertaken.

Structure of the assignment

1)Introduction – should also include a brief summary of what is meant by diabetes structured education?
2) Background information and role of the nurses.
3) Literature Review/ Method section
Identifying topic using PICO system
Data Search (using a PRISMA flow chart) using databases such as CINAHL, Pubmed, ScienceDirect and Cochrane
Inclusion and Exclusion criteria and justification for the inclusion and exclusion criteria
Present a summary table selected studies – minimum of 5 studies, no more than 10 studies (in the Appendix section)
Analysis of evidence of the chosen studies using a CASP tool. This is the main body of your review should be the discussion of the evidence. In this part of the assignment it is neither necessary nor appropriate to provide a detailed critique of each of the included papers – this is categorically not what is required here. It is quite in order to comment on matters of design or procedure in the included evidence. Here, you should aim to link ideas and synthesise the evidence in a logically coherent fashion so that you can draw some conclusions about what the evidence is saying. Interpreting what the evidence might mean for the question you are asking, or the field of inquiry, is crucial.
Implications to practice
Conclusion                                                                                       This link shows provides an example into how the assignment to be structured. For example: the heading, how to present the tables (inclusion/exclusion criteria; summary table of the chosen studies).
