Final Paper: COVID-19 pandemic
In this paper, you will write about the current pandemic COVID 19. Many of us have been watching the news closely; listening to epidemiologists and to public health scientists. The whole world was scrambling to find a solution to end this pandemic. As a public health specialist, it is your turn to show the world your expertise by answering the following questions in your paper:
1. What is COVID 19? Review the history of the virus, how it evolved and how it affects humans? (0.5-1 page)
2. Applying what you have learned in this class, discuss how the burden of disease and the determinants of health (including social determinants) are playing a major role in the disease outcomes for COVID 19 in different parts of the United States and in the world.
Pay particular attention to the social determinants of health, health inequalities, culture, gender and socioeconomic status. Include statistical data if available. (1.5-2 pages)
3. What is your perspective of what the future holds regarding COVID 19 treatment or vaccine as well as permanent changes in daily lives and human behaviors (both positive and negative)? Rely on scientific evidence in your outlook. (1 page)
