Selection Process Project Objective:
After completing this project, the student’s knowledge of the HR duties in the broad area of staffing will be enhanced. Another goal of this project is to give each student the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience with the various stages of staffing an organization.

Steps:
1. Choose a Job Title – Financial Accountant. This was chosen for the discussion thread assignment a couple of weeks ago.
2. Complete a one page Job Analysis of this position based on the needs of the position and the organization. link
3. Using information you have obtained in the book and additional resources (such as the Bureau of Labor Statistics Site, Link: https://www.bls.gov), type a one-page Job Description for the job title you have chosen. This should include the specific qualifications required for the position. If your chosen job title at the company has a complete and well-written job description, you may use that one. cite your specific source for this job description if you do use one from a company’s site.
4. Develop a Recruitment Strategy for this position. You must use three different advertising methods for the position. Be specific and thorough. Explain your choices.
5. Create Advertisements for the three different advertising methods for the position. Remember to follow EEO/ADA, etc. legal standards and compliance issues as you write these announcements.
6. Write ten Interview Questions (including examples of desired answers) and a detailed selection process to determine the top candidate. Your interview questions should be a mix of behavioral, competency-based, and situational questions.
Which rating scale would your selection committee use to determine the best candidate? (see Chapter 8). Assume this first interview is a panel interview. How many members? Who are they? From what departments and why?
7. Choose a minimum of Two Employment Tests to be used and why you believe these are valid and reliable tests to use for this position selection. They can include physical ability, cognitive ability, personality, work sample, honesty and/or drug tests.
8. Compile all of these components into one document.
